Aboot Da Band

The People Say Fox currently consists of:

Michael Billig - Bass Guitar/Glockenspiel Nathan Holte - Guitar/Vocals/Violin/Drums Nathan Adelson - Guitar/Piano Rio Daugherty - Drums/Percussion

The People Say Fox first came into being in March of 2008 under the moniker Erth. The folk pop project, originally consisting of Nathan Michael Holte handling guitar and vocals, and Kenneth Gregory Bressler on synth, was birthed after the departure of Mr. Holte from his previous band, Oddly Familiar. Shortly after the creation of this new musical group, Michael James Billig (bass/shenanigans) joined in on the fun. The three high school companions, then at the tender ages of 17 and 18, began writing full songs together.

Before the summer of '08, Erth grew into a full on folk-rock band with the addition of high school companions violinist/singer Lydia Megumi Komatsu and drummer Karl "don't know his middle name" Palm. The group started practicing regularly and writing music together. After playing a handful of shows, Mr. Palm was replaced by drummer extraordinaire and local eccentric Stephen Ray Hamlin (of Oddly Familiar and Claret fame).

The 5 hooligans continued to write, rewrite, practice, play shows, and mature. By the summer of 2009, the 5 were ready to begin work on their debut album. After much evolution as a band, the 13 track self-titled debut was released September 25th, 2009 under the newly decided upon name "The People Say Fox."

The People spent the next months happily supporting the album around the Midwest. In 2010 and 2011, a number of line-up changes occured, resulting in the departure of Mr. Bressler, Ms. Komatsu, and Mr. Hamlin, and the arrival of Mr. Nathan Adelson (Guitar/Piano) and Mr. Rio Daugherty (Drums/Percussion).

A 10 song follow up to the self titled debut was recorded in September 2011 by the current line-up. Consisting of original members Mr. Holte and Mr. Billig, 2010 addition Mr. Adelson, and newcomer Mr. Daugherty. The new record is currently slated for a late 2011/early 2012 release.
